Manufacturing companies must demonstrate compliance with the good manufacturing practices (GMP) in the PIF.

GMP compliance should be in accordance with relevant harmonized standards, the references of which have been published in the Official Journal of the European Union.

One internationally recognized GMP standard specific for cosmetics is ISO 22716:2007. Certification provided by third parties to prove compliance to GMP can be used and is preferred but is not a requirement.
